At this time, the majority of the members of the House Science Committee do not believe in some simple and fundamental tenets of our current understanding of science, such as the theory of evolution by natural selection or global human caused climate change. Seeing as they control federal research money, and what topics this money goes to, this is not an acceptable state of affairs.
I am petitioning for the Federal Government to have a science group, such as the National Science Foundation or the National Academy of Sciences to create a science literacy test to ensure that the members of the committee actually know what they are doing.
