Public government, charged with protection and empowerment of all citizens, makes all other government, i.e. private, corporate government, possible.
The core American values behind this understanding of public government are empathy, responsibility (both personal and shared), and strength.
Candidate and President Obama have claimed these core American values as his own.
Public government focuses on necessities. Private government focuses on services.
The GDP, Gross Domestic Product, and other economic measurements have failed to place human well-being on par with wealth creation.
The adoption of a national GPI, Genuine Progress Index, to replace the GDP, will be a strong step to create a moral economy that places human rights above corporate rights.
