Department and convenience store cashiers--especially those who work for big box type store with heavy consumer traffic, often spent 9-16 hours a day on their feet. Not only are they on their feet, but they are required to stand in one position all day, sometimes without even floor padding to reduce the pressure on their bodies.
They must also bend and turn frequently. These types of jobs cause a great deal of pain and discomfort. I would like to see laws passed that such workers are given more comfortable, ergonomic work stations and are allowed to sit to perform their duties.
An ergonomic chair system, such as the Muvman, would give workers the ability to do their jobs more comfortably and ensure that they have the range of motion to perform the required tasks efficiently and safely.
