The Declaration of Independence states "in order to create a more perfect Union."
This petition's aim to an attempt to create that more perfect Union. Getting the Old Confederacy out of our nation will vastly improve our chances of achieving the goals of equality, freedom from religious zealotry, universal health care for all, a respect for science and to cease trying to drag a backward region into the 21st Century.
