Some single mothers don't have cars so it makes things twice as hard when we need help with our children and some of us can't afford childcare. My idea is called "The Nanny Committee". This committee would be a group of women who want to be nannies and get paid by the state to help other women with their children. Full Time individuals would work between 40 to 60 hours a week and Part Time would be between 25 to 30 hours a week. Pay would be $7.25 with a 2 cent raise every 6 months for people that did not go to college and 5 cent raises every 6 months for women that are trained in speech pathology and can help children with special needs like autism. Each nanny would carry a checklist for the parents to sign on each visit describing at least 8 things they helped with.
