Starting in January 2016, the FBI will be gathering data on Animal Abuse now that it is a felony with its own status. Although there may be some local, regional, and state movements to track animal abusers, the many smaller databases are often inadequate. It would aid pet-related businesses and animal adoption groups.
We simply ask that if an offender is found to be guilty of animal abuse against pets and farm animals, they be placed on a National Database that is easily accessible by those who might need it and covers all states with recorded data in a single searchable database.
Some of the abuses covered in such a list should include the malicious and intentional maiming, mutilation, torture, wounding, or killing of a living animal as well as those guilty of neglecting their animals.
