We petition the Obama administration to create a voluntary CASH FOR GUNS program to safely remove unused and unnecessary guns from the general population.
This is not a new program and is often used on a local level to diffuse gang tensions in violence prone urban areas. We propose that this same model be rolled out on a national level, backed by the government and corporate sponsors, in order to safely remove and dispose of a small fraction of the millions of guns in circulation. This will be a voluntary community driven action to allow for citizens who care to make a change today to safely dispose of the weapons and ammunition in their home.
One less gun means one less opportunity for a senseless death. Let's make this happen today!
