A National Department of Scientific and Technological Advancement would propel this country forward in the scientific community. Such a department would lead to benefits in education by cultivating the best young minds we have available to us to create new innovations in the scientific world. This kind of program would also lead to the creation of thousands of jobs around the country working on research separate from DARPA (which is more Defense-oriented in its research), as well as lead to the beginning of countless American businesses. This country was once the leader of scientific achievement, and now we have fallen behind. It is time that we use the resources we have available to us, and make sure the brilliant minds we have can accomplish the research the world so desperately needs
