Lets ensure that everyone has the opportunity to vote. It shouldn't be dependent upon our work schedules or whether a politician decides to change voting voting days or times. The latter has become increasingly evident as many governors and legislators have decided to change elegible voting days. For example, Ohio has recently tried to eliminate early voting, which was used predominately by the poor and minorities since the early voting days were on weekends. Thankfully federal judges have stopped Ohio, but that is not true for other states. Florida, Wisconsin, Georgia, Maryland, Tennessee, and West Virginia all have similar laws newly put in place.* As Dwight D. Eisenhower said "The future of this republic is in the hands of the American voter."
