Since there is a National Endowment for the Arts, it would be a good idea to have a similar endowment for Technology. This would include projects for both open source software and hardware.
Projects that are funded through this endowment would be made freely available to the public for use in business, school projects and other advancement of technology.
Such an endowment would show that the United States fully supports the people behind the technology that makes the United States a world leader in science and technology.
