Create a National Firearms and Light Weapons Policy II

Created by C.C. on February 18, 2013

5. Mental institutions should have a legal obligation to notify local and state police before any flagged admission be released and that any concerned party be updated on the status of release. Medical privacy should not trump public safety in the case of mental illness.

6. The federal government shall maintain a national database of all guns and their owners to be updated promptly with any event of sale or theft.

7. Limits on large numbers or very heavy weapons should be done through taxation, regular inspection and additional storage requirements not outright and transient bans.

8. Public carry may be restricted by local ordinance.

9. Knives, bows and other traditional weapons should not be more stringently restricted than firearms.
