No one will dispute that firearm violence is on the rise; we see it in the news, in our communities and even bare witness to it in person. However, we believe we can combat this by raising awareness around firearm safety and responsible firearm ownership. Creating this day will allow state, city and local governments to support a way in which we come together as a community to teach each other about firearms. This day will be about teaching others the positive impact that firearms can have. This will help our leaders to come out and support responsible firearm ownership through education.
The goal here is to:
1) Teach others about firearm safety through education
2) Discuss the positive role firearms can play in our communities
3) Answer questions and debunk popular myths
4) Have fun!
