Lets raise awareness by creating National Herpes Day
to encourage people to exercise more caution
as well as to foster support and raise funds for the
researchers developing a cure at Duke University's
Cullen Lab and other efforts to develop a vaccine.
The Herpes Simplex viruses 1 and 2 are highly contagious infectious diseases that plague increasingly higher numbers of people in the U.S.A and worldwide.
More than half of adults are presumed to be carrying Hsv 1 which typically creates sores on the facial region and as many as 25% of adults are afflicted with Hsv 2 which favors the genital region.
Herpes can be spread easily- a kiss from an infected individual on the cheek of an infant, sharing drinks or between sexual partners even with protection.
