Native American culture was pretty much murdered in the early years of America, and from then it has only gone downhill. On native American Reservations, there are high rates of alcoholism and suicide. At thanksgiving time, while most people celebrate, for the Natives, it's a time of mourning. While the American government has tried to help them by giving them land rights and what not, we need to revive their culture. What better way to celebrate Native American culture than to have a holiday?
