Create a national holiday to celebrate Nelson Mandela's life

Created by M.M. on December 06, 2013

Nelson Mandela is widely viewed as one of the worlds greatest leaders. He taught us that forgiveness and reconciliation is a viable leadership strategy that can be employed effectively. To celebrate his life, we propose that a national holiday be created on the day of his death (or birth) where all citizens are encouraged to volunteer for some worthy cause or help society in some way.

Further we instruct the White House to propose that other countries also adopt this holiday, creating a truly global initiative in Nelson Mandela's name. This would truly be a legacy that would be worthy of such a great man.
