The Marquis de Lafayette was a man who believed so passionately of freedom that he gave his fortune and life for our nations revolution. He was born of nobility in France as well as married into one of the most powerful families in the country, but believed so deeply that all men should be free he took up cause with our revolutionaries. Spending his own personal fortune on things such as uniforms and munitions for his regiments. As well as leading men into battle he has been said to be like a son to the father of this nation, George Washington. Let us commemorate a man willing to give his life for this nations ideals by giving him a deserved day.
