Create a National Holiday on Elections Day, removing one more obstacle to getting to the polls.

The United States of America is built on the fundamental principle of government for the people, by the people. The smaller the group that votes, the more this principle breaks down.
Balancing work times with polls times becomes difficult, especially when work is not always 9 to 5.
"Poll rush hours" have been observed. These are times when people can actually get to the polls but all at the same time, creating long lines and unnecessary pressures on polling stations.
Lastly, people with families may need to split their time at the polls, making it difficult or impossible for all legal members to cast their vote.
I propose that a National Holiday be declared for National Elections days to better enable all legal voters to cast their votes and support this fundamental principle.
