Fred Rogers was a great man who accomplished many great things in his life. With all of the Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne and Lindsay Lohans of the world, the kids of today are surrounded by a culture of drugs, drinking and sex that they are taught is cool and hip. I never personally paid much attention to Mr. Rogers as a child, but since I have gotten older and read more about the man, I've come to realize that he deserves to be remembered, not forgotten. In a society that worships celebrity, he stands above the rest, and needs to be recognized as such. No man before or after, to my knowledge has single-handedly done so much for children spanning several generations on television. If we can give Macho Man a shot, why not Mr. Rogers?
