create a national holiday on September 23 called "National Gourd Day" to commemorate the beginning of Autumn.

Created by M.V. on September 23, 2015

For far too long, the American government has denied the importance of gourds, demonstrated by Google's latest home page logo design. The gourd is a significant national symbol for fall. Without the humble gourd, our identity as Americans in Autumn would be lost.
Our mission is to promote the recognition of the gourd as the cornerstone of our great way of life and as the gatekeeper to the coming of Autumn. Thus, we urge Americans to make this a reality, and to give gourds the recognition they deserve by making a national holiday on August 23, the beginning of Autumn.
