The increased violence and discord in communities across America is fueled by many different factors including socio-economic issues, racial prejudice, and civil rights violations. The National "I Am My Brother's Keeper" Day seeks to provide a day for dialogue to enable people of different backgrounds and economic status to openly discuss their differences towards finding commonality and respect for each other. Guided by trained mediators, open dialogue would provide a forum for dispelling stereotypes, discussing ways to improve racial and civil relations, and identifying anti-violent solutions to problems faced across the country. Hosted in schools, churches, mosques, girls & boys clubs, and other spaces, everyone would be welcome to participate in a day of non-violence & reconciliation.
