For every $1 spent on the National Lottery MegaMillions and PowerBall:
• .50 cents paid to winners in prizes;
• .23 cents given to the Government for national infrastructure improvements;
• .12 cents to the Government in Lottery duty to pay off the National Debt;
• .05 cents paid to National Lottery retailers on all National Lottery tickets sold;
• .05 cents paid to the Government to be given to the National Parks and Recreation;
• and .05 cents retained by the operator to meet costs and returns to shareholders
