While a medal was created for Law Enforcement, and Fire Service Personnel who perished on September 11, 2001, there is nothing to honor those who served at the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Pennsylvania sites but survived the attacks.
These are brave men and women, who also put their lives on the line to save others, with little to no regard for their own lives. Many are still haunted by those images, and the loss of their brothers and sisters in the public safety service.
Honor them, their service, with a National Medal, and a License Plate, much the same as military veterans have.
