Create a National Mentorship program for public schools that engages youth to interact and aid in social development.

Created by H.B. on December 18, 2012

In light of the recent tragic events that have taken place in Newtown we must look prevent this tragic event from happening again. Many will call for greater gun controls or tighter security at our schools. Neither will adequately solve all of the issues. However, a possible additional aid to the issue of individuals falling through the cracks and the issue of indentifying those in the most need of mental and emotional assistance would best be addressed by implementing a form of big brother / big sister and or mentoring type of program that not only would aid in the development and enengagement of our youth but would also aid the mentors in learning community service and interaction with others. We are our brother's keeper and we must all look after and assist all of our fellow citizens
