We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Create a National Reconciliation Day for the United States of America

Created by S.U. on November 10, 2016

As the late Dr. Martin Luther King said, "We are not the makers of history, we are made by history." We as people are made by our own past mistakes, experiences, and moral triumphs. They shape us and the type of people we are. This idea extends to our own country. Our country's national psyche is shaped by the racial systems our ancestors both established and partook in. Though America has progressed and moved morally forward in some ways, our country needs to acknowledge our mistakes. We need to apologize for our divisive history and begin bridging the cracks in our nation's identity. It is for these reasons we propose a National Reconciliation Day, a day when we as a country admit our past wrongdoings and together agree to move forward, writing a history that leaves no group behind.
