All of the Veterans coming back from overseas need jobs. They've been running security details for years during their deployment(s). Instead of forcing them into corporate America untrained and underemployed, why not keep them on the Gov't payroll and have them PROTECT OUR CHILDREN.
I'm not suggesting that they patrol the campus with battle gear and advanced weaponry. It won't take that. Station one of them (maybe two) at every school in America.
Fund the program with a new gun and ammunition sales tax.
These men and women are trained to protect the homeland and I can think of nothing more valuable and in need of protection than this nation's children.
