We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Create a National Slavery Museum

Created by E.F. on May 13, 2016

The first and only U.S. museum and memorial dedicated to telling the story of slavery was privately funded (1) after attempts at publicly funding such a museum elsewhere had failed (2). The United States government and we, the American people, must look openly and honestly at this time in our history and allow people impacted by slavery to tell their own stories. It is an important step towards healing our nation, also for education and providing context for current events, and it is overdue.
