The people of America rely on national and local news organizations for information about what is happening in the world, country and area they live within.
For these news organizations to be allowed to blatantly misrepresent and skew the news or continuously make inaccurate reports is a great disservice to the American populace.
I propose a national standard which would apply to any organization calling what it produces "News".
Such a standard would require:
That all reports are accurate, with verifiable sources of information available upon request.
That any inaccuracies in reports due to insufficient or changing information be corrected.
That failure of an organization to comply with the standards strips its ability to call what it produces "News"
