We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Create a national summer break period running through June 1— August 31 (Meteorological Summer) for all public schools

Created by A.S. on August 21, 2016

Public schools across the nation need to adapt their summer break so that all schools start and end on the same date. One important reason for this necessary change is to lower the high costs of air conditioning due to seasonal lag in the month of August, as many school districts begin schooling in this month where temperatures peak. It would help to save electricity in lowering environmental concerns. This could in turn save state governments a large amount of money which could help balance budgets or go to other more urgent funding needs. In addition, starting schools on the same date allows for more ease in scheduling and general interaction between school districts across the nation. There would be no conflicts with exam scheduling or other nationwide educational plans.
