create a national two-day holiday for the presidential election.

Created by C.S. on November 13, 2012

Create a national two-day holiday that takes place once every four years, celebrating the election process. The first day being the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November (election day). The second day, the day after election day.

The first day will grant more people the ability to vote and ease the pressure during rush hours. The community can organize events outside polling stations with food vendors and entertainment for kids and adults. The second day is a buffer for all the people (especially on the east coast) who stayed awake to see the results. Giving them a day to regain a normal sleep schedule.

Initiating this holiday will: celebrate the election, encourage more citizens to vote, educate children, ease stress, and lower the automobile accident rate.
