create a national veterans ID card.

Created by M.G. on November 13, 2011

Many businesses offer veterans a discount as a way to express gratitude for their service to our country. However, the veteran must be able to show proof. Veterans often do not carry proof of their service. Veterans are given military discharge papers or "DD214" forms. They are large paper forms that do not easily fit in a wallet, are quickly wrinkled or torn from being carried, and can easily be lost.
I myself am a veteran of the United States Navy. Unless you join a veterans group or are disabled and have a card from the VA, you have no other proof of service.
I believe a national veterans photo ID is needed and is a great way to identify veterans who have no other wallet sized ID to identify themselves.
