Create a National Youth Jazz Ensemble to perform alongside the National Youth Orchestra.

Jazz, one of America's most popular art forms. Originating in New Orleans in the early 1900's, Jazz has become a defining art form of America.
Producing international stars such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, among countless others, jazz has placed the United States in the record books among global music standards.
The United States recently instituted a National Youth Orchestra for students aged 16-19, to represent our nation in international music. We feel that a similar large jazz ensemble should be instituted to showcase the talent of American youth.
