Create a nationwide elevation dataset.

For over 100 years USGS has mapped the nation. New technologies (such as lidar) allow much faster and more accurate elevation mapping. Full funding of the USGS 3DEP program would be a solution. Renewed elevation mapping would be useful for mapping climate change and natural resources. And this investment will create jobs.
