Create a National effort aimed at raising awareness of the environmental dangers of lead, and providing Federal Funding for local lead abatement efforts to include soil treatment and removal of lead based paint in older structures. Such an effort could lead to better health, lower levels of learning disabilities and crime, and create a huge number of construction jobs. This is an investment we can and should make.
