Americans deserve a federally recognized holiday that can be celebrated annually to commemorate the contributions of Native Americans to the US with a focus on recognizing the traditions, culture and background of Native Americans. This holiday will also serve as a remembrance for all of the Native American lives lost.
Since several states have enacted this holiday on their own, the federal government should lead the charge to enact it on a federal level so it is recognized in all 50 states and all US territories.
