A career for both civilians and current military personnel that has a strong emphasis on aquaponic greenhouse farming. Equal opportunity employment that encourages veterans, the disabled and pregnant or new mothers to join.
The military needs resources, not just food, but medicine, clothing, and many other essential items that can come from plant material. Billions of taxpayer dollars could be saved if the military supplied some of these materials. By not requiring as many resources from the civilian sector, the military will become more sustainable, improving food security for the U.S. and international community.
This department could lower the cost of food on a global level. By providing international food aid, poverty would be reduced which helps decrease conflicts, saving lives.
