To obtain this right, wars have been waged. Blood has been shed, lives have been lost, and national borders have been drawn and redrawn. I am talking about the right to vote. Unfortunately, we live in a nation where that right has been taken for granted and in some cases dismissed by some of our fellow citizens. Starting people off voting at a younger age will get future citizens in the habit of voting earlier, and thus it will be more ingrained in their lives. It is the duty of all Americans to vote, and it's the duty of a government to make sure that right is protected. In order to secure the future and tradition of our right to vote, we need to start the next generation of loyal, non-apathetic American voters.
