Create new guidelines for listing ingredients in food and household products

Created by S.M. on January 13, 2015

There are 15,000,000 people in the United States that suffer from allergies. 90% of these people suffer from one of the "top 8", and these top 8 allergens are almost always given warnings.

However, for those who fall in the other 10%, there are no warnings for their allergens. Allergens that cause potentially life-threatening reactions are hidden as "natural flavors" and "natural scents". Life is much more difficult for those who suffer from these allergies, as there is no requirement for companies to list the allergens on labeling.

I ask you to urge the Food and Drug Administration to create new guidelines that require manufacturers to list all ingredients in food and household products. Hidden allergens should no longer be an issue facing over a million Americans.
