I am no fan of gun control (or guns for that matter), but it is apparent that new laws need to be put into place to prohibit atrocities from happening. My proposal to this is to require every potential firearm owner (and current owners) to take a psychological test to prove mental stability before being allowed to own or operate a firearm.
Anybody who is mentally unstable or has a (court) history of anger issues will be prohibited from owning and operating a firearm.
This simply seems like a logical step, considering the mental state of most of these shooters.
The actual definition of "mentally unstable" (unstable enough to be banned from firearm ownership) would need to be determined by psychologists.
This petition in no way supports discrimination against people with mental illness
