Create a new Homestead Act

Created by C.R. on October 26, 2011

Even though there is vast unemployment in this country, land which could be worked, lies fallow or unplanted.

As world population increases and geographical climates shift, it is important that enough food is grown for the world and for ourselves.

Agriculture is an American tradition which can still provide jobs with decent incomes. Many in America are unable to purchase land; because, they are either too poor; or, cannot afford the high price being asked for the land. If the US Government would re-create a new Homestead Act, many individuals/families currently unable to afford Agricultural land, could obtain a grant of land; which, they would agree to work for the required amount of time; in order to, qualify to own this same homesteaded land they had received as a free grant.
