We see countless stories all across the nation about law enforcement shooting and killing a beloved family pet. Usually it is a dog, regardless of size, who is just doing its job protecting its home and family.
The most recent case, in my home town, a Rottweiler named Bullet was gunned down by Round Rock TX police while they were investigating a burglar alarm. The dog was sectioned off in its own room and they killed it on sight. It was determined by a BRIEF investigation that the officers were following procedure and no disciplinary action was needed.
If THIS is following procedure, then that procedure DESPERATELY needs to be changed. With the option of pepper spray, taser guns, and even just putting in a call to Animal Control, these murders could be easily prevented.
