There are no regulations strict enough that are currently being made on factory farms. The current space requirements are not enough for animals to properly live in. Many animals can not even move around in their own cages. The uncleanliness and poor treatment of the animals in these living spaces cause disease to spread quickly, causes environmental impacts with runoff, eutrophication etc. and can even make the meat affect our own health.
