create of a new State – Columbia, partitioning Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington from the Western regions.

There is an climatic, ideological and economic base disconnection between Western Washington and Oregon and Eastern Washington and Oregon. This inland region, from the crest of the Cascades in the West and the Idaho border to the East should be partitioned and established as an independent state of these United States under Article IV of the US Constitution. This petition is a follow-up to earlier attempts to establish the States of Lincoln and Jefferson. Petitioners would be open to the inclusion of the top ten counties of Idaho and the mountainous region of northern California.
This is especially important as there is an independence movement to form the nation of Cascadia that would align with the bioregions of Western Oregon, Western Washington and territory in Canada.
