We, the people of Illinois no longer wish to have the fate of our state dictated by the people in Chicago. We wish to have our own voice in government separate from that of the largest city in our state.We hereby petition that you create a new state of the city of Chicago and let the rest of the population of Illinois have a legitimate voice in government.
