There are no term limits for members of Congress. They can be re-elected any number of times. This gets the same people in Congress that keep blocking the same bills and laws that may actually help America.
Once a person has served in Congress they then have certain benefits, medical for example, for life.
This petition is to set terms limits to members of the House and Senate and end life benefits for members of Congress.
1.) A person cannot be elected and/or serve more than 6 terms, for a total of 12 years, as a Member of the House of Representatives.
2.) A person cannot be elected and/or serve more than 2 terms, for a total of 12 years, as a Member of the Senate.
3.) After a member of Congress has served and leaves office, they are no longer allowed life benefits.
