President Obama should directly respond, in a timely fashion, to petitions that garner more than 100,000 signatures. As of January, the petition to recognize the Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group has over 300,000 signatures, yet has still not been responded to. Others have had less than 6,000 signatures, but have received responses.
It is important for President Obama to respond directly and urgently to these petitions because of the obvious strong support for them.
