Create a News Accreditation Service to protect the citizenry from propaganda, misinformation and corrupt practices.

Created by S.M. on December 19, 2012

The people of the United States depend on media as a source of news and information. When propaganda and/or misinformation are presented to the public as legitimate and factual news by the media this harms the populace in terms of it's ability to exercise it's franchise, participate in national discourse and to make safe and well informed decisions.

The press, in the form of news serivces, is critical to the health and well being of America. Thus, we propose the creation of a News Accreditation Service that will regulate the use of the term "News" and ensure that what is presented is responsible, factual, complete and free of propaganda, distortion and lies. We further propose that only properly accredited news services be granted access to government and military press resources.
