While cyber security is a growing concern systems can be secured to authorized users.
Allowing vote from home as well as the polls would decrease voter fraud, as an automated system with propper authentication can ensure that no one can vote twice. Additionally if there was a concern with someone hacking the system and fraudulently voting it would take hours to verify and weeks or perhaps months.
Voter registration would be almost imposible to fake if the system were done correctly. No one would be able to register to vote more than once. Currently in NM I do not have to show ID to register or proof of citizenship. I could register to vote litterally 100s of times.
If you do not have a computer or smartphone you could still vote at the polls.
