Create a system that allows voters to register and vote for federal elections online. System can run in parallel with existing voting practices. Citizens would be able to vote from home or at their local library at no cost. It would allow citizens and soldiers to vote oversees, without the need for absentee ballots. The savings from the reduction of paper ballots and absentee ballots could potentially cover the costs of maintaining the system. The increase in voter turnout would be tremendous. Hundreds of federal agencies have secured websites and online databases, therefore, the Office of the Federal Register could provide a similar system.
