As an example to all other nations of the world, We The People wish to proclaim our willingness to receive and welcome potential intelligent life forms in the universe who's intentions could be clearly identified as peaceful.
As it currently stands, our nation has only one law regarding this topic, Extraterrestrial Exposure Law, Title 14, Section 1211. This law, created in 1969 for the purpose of containing a biological outbreak from extraterrestrial origins, clearly criminalizes any and all contact by a citizen of our nation with a life form not from our planet. Should any individual have such contact, they shall be subject to detainment, interrogation, and seizure of property.
We The People do not believe this law accurately reflects our willingness to consider such contact.
