Our Military is coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Lets deploy them at home. Invite them to enlist in the Green Army, funded by reallocated defense spending. This army would lean on veterans, but may also accept rookie volunteers. Lets train them for free and put them to work. Here's what they can do.
-Natural Gas Conversions for Gasoline Vehicles, and installing a nationwide natural gas infrastructure. Lets provide a tax credit to cover the cost, using defense spending funds.
-Electric Charging Infrastructure, including for apartment buildings, shopping malls, grocery stores, and more.
-Battery Research and Development.
-Solar and Wind – make a push to supplement our aging nuclear and coal industry.
